“InfoComm 2024 is the destination to bring together the ProAV industry—from manufacturers to integrators, dealers to end-users—to connect with each other, learn about the latest trends, and explore the newest technology,” said David Labuskes, CTS, chief executive officer of AVIXA, producer of InfoComm. “In a continuously evolving industry in a forever-evolving world, it’s critical for industry professionals to keep learning and challenging the status quo to bring forth solutions that make a difference.”

This year’s event promises to be both dynamic and innovative, with a robust lineup of speakers, hands-on workshops, and immersive product demonstrations. Attendees can look forward to showcases of next-gen AV solutions—including advancements in AI-driven technologies, immersive audio experiences, and cutting-edge display systems.

“InfoComm serves as a hub for inspiration, learning, and networking, driving forward the evolution of AV technology and its impact on the way we communicate, collaborate, and engage with multimedia content,” added Michael Shabun, VP of marketing, at Insta360, whose company exhibited in the inaugural Trailblazers Zone at InfoComm 2023 and is back for the 2024 show.

SiliconCore’s VP of marketing Johanna Ocampo is also very much looking forward to this year’s show. “I think we’ll see solid attendance numbers at the show leading to great networking opportunities,” she said. “This will also be the first time the industry has gathered in Vegas since The Sphere opened, so the networking events will be a great place to reconnect with existing contacts and make some new ones.”

InfoComm 2024 Trends

As InfoComm 2024 approaches, anticipation is building for the cutting-edge trends that will be evidenced by both product demonstrations and educational opportunities. Show attendees can expect to be wowed by the latest advancements in display technologies, immersive experiences, virtual production, and more.

Artificial intelligence (AI) education sessions and products will be front and center at InfoComm 2024. When asked about the number one trend attendees can expect to see at the show, Kayleigh Waters, content marketing writer and strategist at 22Miles, exclaimed “AI, AI, AI! Artificial intelligence is still very trendy and full of possibilities.”

22Miles AI Wayfinding at InfoComm 2024

22Miles will display its AI-powered Wayfinding solutions at InfoComm 2024.

“It [AI] has been at the forefront of 22Miles product developments this year, so I’m excited to see what products our peers have developed in AI, automation, and forward-thinking product design,” she continued. “The impact on the industry will be extremely beneficial for customers and businesses alike in terms of time saved, convenience, and content creation. I’m also interested in seeing how companies are solving for AI bias.”

Megan Zeller, senior director of business development at Peerless-AV also believes InfoComm 2024 will delve into AI capabilities and is particularly looking forward to seeing some of the company’s partners AI solutions. “For example,” she said, “22Miles has a new mapping design model for the wayfinding design aspect using AI, as well as a new AI assistant for wayfinding. This will allow fast deployments for mapping which was previously a time-consuming expensive process. AI is revolutionizing how companies do business, making the previously time-consuming and expensive processes faster and more cost-effective to pursue.”

Insta360’s Shabu agrees with the AI trend assessment: “At InfoComm 2024, we will see the further integration of artificial intelligence into audiovisual technology. Insta360 launched an AI-powered 4K webcam in 2022, and it has become one of the best-selling webcams in its price range,” he said.

Joe Pham of QSC/Q-SYS

In addition to AI on the show floor, there are plenty of AI-focused educational opportunities, starting with Joe Pham, chairman and CEO of QSC and Q-SYS, delivering an immersive presentation on how the ProAV industry can capture the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence.

“The potential unleashed by AI on our industry—from revolutionizing experiential delivery to completely reshaping our expectations for human interaction—is nothing short of profound,” sad Pham. “I’m honored to take the InfoComm stage to encourage our broader community to capitalize on the once-in-a-generation opportunities presented by the unique intersection of AI and AV technologies.”

New display technology will also be front-and-center at InfoComm 2024. Whether the focus is on virtual production/extended reality or immersive experiences, advancement shall abound.

Virtual production is an up-and-coming area of ProAV, according to AVIXA’s VP of market intelligence, Sean Wargo. “Virtual production is becoming a more prevalent option for companies that are investing in content production and streaming capabilities. A virtual production studio has increasing appeal if you’re doing a lot of content or you’re looking to create compelling backdrops using digital technology. dVLED technology has become a lot better and a lot more affordable so I think that supports virtual production as a technology area [to watch].”

Watch the video below to hear more of Wargo’s thoughts on emerging tech trends at InfoComm 2024.

Perhaps at the heart of virtual production is dvLED and LED display technology, which has become critical to nearly every ProAV installation—from digital scoreboards at stadiums to retail video walls and everything in-between.

“As with all recent shows, LED is sure to dominate the visual display conversation and specifically I think we’ll see a lot more application focused demonstrations of how dvLED can be used in increasingly diverse environments,” said SiliconCore’s Ocampo. As of press time, Ocampo couldn’t share information on what the company will debut at the show but suggested InfoComm 2024 attendees visit Booth W1059 to see the latest innovations from SiliconCore.

Advanced projection technology, in addition to LED technology, will be showcased at InfoComm 2024, thanks to the immersive experience trend. “The popularity of large, immersive content is increasing as more people seek out immersive entertainment and crave engaging displays in everyday work and education spaces. This evolving trend is driving today’s projection innovation—more brightness and higher resolution in smaller chassis with key features to fit more display needs,” said Ramzi Shakra, senior product manager, Epson America. “From intimate showcases to massive productions, projection needs vary depending on applications, environment, lighting conditions, and more. The new EB-PQ Series was built with this in mind, offering a range of high brightness options with powerful feature sets in compact chassis.”

And innovations in display technology doesn’t just include the displays and projectors—attendees can’t forget the equipment that is, quite literally, holding them up. “Those who visit Peerless-AV in Booth W1725 will have a first-hand look at our latest products that are revolutionizing the dvLED video wall market. They will have the chance to speak with our team about our increased engineering capabilities for SEAMLESS Bespoke dvLED mounting systems, including its uses for virtual production,” said Zeller.

Not all trends are new ones, according to Blackmagic Design senior technical solutions specialist Sarah Jones. “IP video has been steadily evolving over the years, and its growth as a technology is revolutionizing workflows as it becomes more prevalent in products coming to the market. In particular, SMPTE-2110 is gaining traction as an option for users who want more flexibility with connections, resolutions, and frame rates.”

She added: “Traditionally, IP video has required an IT department or specific tech person to keep video systems running; however, today’s new products are allowing anyone to make IP workflows a reality, even without a dedicated IT department. With point-to-point connections, simple Ethernet cables, remote power, and bidirectional video, the latest IP products offer users a lower cost, simplified way to achieve IP video and SMPTE-2110 standards.”

From interactive displays and AI-driven analytics to augmented reality and beyond, InfoComm 2024 is set to unveil the technologies shaping the future of the ProAV industry.
