The VR/AR Association CFL Chapter is set to cohost a HTC VIVE launch event focused on the Department of Defense (DoD) and modeling and simulation (M&S) communities. The event will take place November 12 from 3 – 8 p.m. at the Celeste Hotel in Orlando, FL.

Hosted by Dan O’Brien, president of HTC VIVE Americas, the event will showcase the latest virtual/mixed reality hardware and software technology that is being used in the defense and public sector industry. Attendees will hear directly from the company how HTC VIVE is supporting the defense M&S ecosystem with new products and capabilities.

HTC will be showcasing its latest products including the Vision Focus, which, according to the company, provides “unparalleled features and meets stringent US DoD security requirements.” It will also be presenting its 5G communications technology G Reigns and discussing the integration of extended reality and 5G.

A few HTC M&S partners will also be demonstrating solutions; these companies include Bohemia Interactive Simulations, Engineering Computer Simulations, i3 Corps, iPerformx, 302 Interactive, and Virtualware USA.

The technology showcase will take place from 3 – 6 p.m. and free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged and walk-ins will be accepted on a space-available basis. Following the showcase, there will be a reception from 6 – 8 p.m. where drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
