XRA Congressional Tech Staff Event

The XR Association (XRA) hosted a reception on January 26 with the Congressional Tech Staff Association (CTSA) to showcase virtual and augmented reality technologies and their limitless potential to support workforce development, training, and up-skilling. Learn more.

XRA’s Working Group on Education

In June of this year, the XR Association announced the formation of its Education Working Group (EWG), a new benefit for its member companies. This committee will focus on the responsible development of immersive technology and software in academic settings. Learn more.

XRA Call to Action on the House Reality Caucus

At AWE 2022, the organization’s CEO Liz Hyman issued a call to action to the audience members to send a letter to their member of Congress encouraging them to join the U.S. House of Representative’s “Reality Caucus”. Learn more.

Passage of the CHIPS and Science Act

The XRA called on tech enthusiasts to reach out to members of Congress and encourage them to vote for the CHIPS-PLUS Act. U.S. federal statute enacted by the 117th United States Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden on August 9. Learn more.

GitHub Earns “Digital Public Good” Designation

The Digital Public Goods (DPG) Alliance added the XRAccessibility GitHub Project, led by the XRA and XR Access, to its DPG Registry. The DPG designation indicates that a resource supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals through reducing inequalities and improving economic growth. Learn more.

XRA’s Limitless Future Conference

On November 1, the XR Association hosted the Limitless Future Conference to showcase extended reality’s emerging role in workforce training. The in-person event convened over 100 learning and development professionals with XR equipment and software providers to discuss how immersive technology is making training, learning, and talent management more efficient. Learn more.

Launch of the XR for All Foundation

Founded by the XRA in early November, the XR for All Foundation’s main priority will be supporting the development of a diverse and equitable workforce for the immersive technology industry through broad-based research and impactful partnerships for generations to come. Learn more.
