Voicebot.ai Releases Research on Deepfakes and Voice Clones
Voicbot.ai, in collaboration with Pindrop, has released new research concerning the consumer sentiment and level of awareness and concern with deepfakes and voice clones.
The Deepfake and Voice Clone Consumer Sentiment Report 2023 is based on a national consumer survey of over 2,000 U.S. adults and includes over 50 charts and nearly 80 pages of analysis and resources.
“Awareness of these technologies was higher than I expected and concern levels are very high,” said Voicebot.ai founder Bret Kinsella. “At the same time, a lot of consumers really like the technology when appropriately applied. However, I was most surprised by how many people know someone that has dabbled with or been a victim of these technologies.”
Despite 30-40% of consumers reporting positive sentiment about voice clones and deepfakes, concern levels run very high—over 90% of consumers expressed at least mild concern over the technologies, and around 60% say they are “extremely” or “very” concerned, according to the report.
