The Deepfake and Voice Clone Consumer Sentiment Report 2023 is based on a national consumer survey of over 2,000 U.S. adults and includes over 50 charts and nearly 80 pages of analysis and resources.

“Awareness of these technologies was higher than I expected and concern levels are very high,” said Voicebot.ai founder Bret Kinsella. “At the same time, a lot of consumers really like the technology when appropriately applied. However, I was most surprised by how many people know someone that has dabbled with or been a victim of these technologies.”

Despite 30-40% of consumers reporting positive sentiment about voice clones and deepfakes, concern levels run very high—over 90% of consumers expressed at least mild concern over the technologies, and around 60% say they are “extremely” or “very” concerned, according to the report.
