Viz Arena 5.2 Brings Augmented Reality Graphics to the Cloud
Vizrt is set to add Viz Arena 5.2—an image-based sports augmented reality (AR) graphics and virtual advertising solution—to Viz Now, the company’s automated deployment tool that breaks down the barriers to cloud.

Powered by Viz Engine 5, Vizrt’s real-time live 3D graphics renderer and compositor, supported by NDI In/NDI Out capability, Viz Arena 5.2, is the first live hyper-real 3D graphics and virtual ads solution to provide customers with a premium AR experience in the cloud, according to the company.
“Simply ingest an NDI stream of a game into your cloud instance and add virtual graphics—it really is that simple,” said Ulrich Voigt, global head of product management at Vizrt. “This is extremely interesting for revenue-enhancing use-cases such as virtual ad insertion, and the inherent scalability and simplicity of the workflow reveals the promise of Vizrt’s cloud-first, NDI-native live production strategy.”
Viz Now enables easy deployment of 4K switching, broadcast-quality overlay graphics, audio mixing, intercom, and—with the release of Viz Arena 5.2—AR graphics, seamlessly at the click of a button, and in under 15 minutes, says the company.
Vizrt believes Viz Arena sets a new standard for cloud-based production efficiency, simplicity, and speed. “Effortless insertion of live AR graphics, unrivaled live image-based camera tracking, and advanced AI keying means sports broadcasters and rightsholders are up and running in minutes,” said the company in a recent press release.
“With NDI at its very core, Viz Arena gives our customers the opportunity to move into IP video production and experience all the flexibility it offers, including the many ways to scale up productions and deploy their operators to suit any need,” Voigt concluded.
In addition to cloud support, Viz Arena can also be deployed on-premises, so users always have the choice of selecting the optimal production workflow.
