On Thursday, March 14, Joan O’Hara, senior vice president of public policy at the XR Association (XRA), participated in a panel on spatial computing at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy.

The panel was moderated by Joseph Jerome, technology and public policy visiting fellow, and also featured Will Duffield, adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute; Jameson Spivack, senior policy analyst for immersive technologies at the Future of Privacy Forum; and Cobun Zweifel-Keegan, managing director at the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Throughout the discussion, the panelists discussed various aspects of spatial computing and its implications for technology policy. Some key topics included the importance of safeguarding user privacy, the rights to user-generated content in virtual environments, and digital property rights.

According to the XRA, this conversation provided “valuable insights to students at the McCourt School of Public Policy and shed light on the policy challenges and opportunities presented by spatial computing.”
