Brainstorm Suite 5 Gets Additional XR Features at IBC 2022

Brainstorm is set to introduce Suite 5.1 and 5.2—the latest versions of its flagship products InfinitySet, Aston and eStudio—at IBC 2022. The upgrades include new features and solutions on top of the Suite 5 introduced at NAB Show earlier this year.

Brainstorm Suite 5Suite 5.1 improves the new features designed to enhance extended reality (XR) content creation and workflows—streamlining the users’ ability to boost their virtual content creation, whether they are using LED video walls or chroma sets to produce virtual content.

InfinitySet’s differential chroma keyer has been improved to seamlessly work with tracked and robotic cameras, and not just with TrackFree productions.

On top of that, for eStudio and InfinitySet users, Suite 5.2 is fully compatible with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5), Epic Games’ latest development of its render engine. Taking advantage of all the new features present in UE5, Brainstorm also includes full integration of objects created in InfinitySet or Aston within the UE environment and vice-versa, providing unmatched flexibility for content creation.

“Suite 5.1 and 5.2 are a leap forward in the path we opened with Suite 5 at NAB” said Héctor Viguer, Brainstorm’s CTO and engineering director. “Our commitment to innovation is paramount to Brainstorm’s strategy and pushing the boundaries of technology is core to our business. By developing agnostic technology, which in this case combines LED-based XR with advanced chroma keying, we provide our clients with the best tools for their virtual content creation. In this sense, we are delighted to work together with NVIDIA to offer the latest GPU technology to fulfill high-end requirements”.

At IBC 2022, Brainstorm will feature an XR theatre presentation in partnership with Alfalite, a European LED screen manufacturer. The combination of Brainstorm’s XR solution InfinitySet with Alfalite’s LED technology can cope with any requirement for advanced, immersive XR virtual production, including in-context augmented reality (AR) and live talents. On top of that, the main demonstration will feature live tele-transportation of remote talents, shot in a chroma set, which illustrates the power of combining LED technology with AR and chroma sets.

The new developments in Suite 5 benefit from NVIDIA technology, including the NVIDIA RTX A5000 and A6000 GPUs. NVIDIA will join Brainstorm in a fireside chat at Brainstorm’s booth to discuss “The Marvelous Future of Graphics.” Jeremy Krinitt, senior developer relations manager at NVIDIA, and Ricardo Montesa, Brainstorm’s CEO and founder, will explore some of the latest trends in advanced graphics, how Brainstorm is pushing the boundaries of media creation using NVIDIA technologies, and what the industry’s next chapter may look like. The fireside chat, open to all visitors, will take place Saturday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m.

“Innovation in real-time 3D graphics is made possible by the performance and AI capabilities found in the latest NVIDIA technologies,” concluded Krinitt. “Brainstorm’s Suite 5 XR production powered by NVIDIA RTX GPUs delivers complex, real-time ray-traced graphics to broadcasters, pushing the industry into the next chapter of immersive storytelling.”
