XR Exec Talks with SiliconCore
Name: Johanna Ocampo
Title: VP of Marketing
Company: SiliconCore
LAVNCH [CODE]: We know your title, but what do you actually do at SiliconCore?
JOHANNA OCAMPO: I oversee the marketing and communications for the business, which involves a myriad of responsibilities ranging from product communications, campaign management, trade show and conference management, sales and lead generation, partnership liaison, and liaising with our dedicated teams and support networks across the globe. I’m at the forefront of exciting discussions about the next-generation of our game-changing innovations.
LAVNCH [CODE]: In your opinion, what is the most exciting thing about extended reality?
JO: Extended reality (XR) is in its initial stage of development, there is still so much to learn about this new and evolving space in the AV industry. We’re continuing to push the envelope of what’s possible, blurring the lines between real and virtual worlds. These tools are equipping us with the materials needed for cross collaboration between teams, reducing costs, and delivering a more immersive experience for the end user.
LAVNCH [CODE]: Where do you see the XR market heading in the next year?
JO: The XR market is emerging as one of the fastest growing verticals in the AV space and the appetite for new products is healthy. It’s a competitive market with all of the big players looking to leverage these requirements in line with new technologies converging. I believe we will see huge strides in the direction of greater frame rate capacity, multi person point of view, and working on larger and more complex data sets, to name a few.
LAVNCH [CODE]: What new XR products and services are on the horizon for SiliconCore?
JO: We recently launched our 1.9mm XR LED Video Wall which achieves 240Hz frame rate, ideal for XR environments, broadcast, and virtual production spaces. We’re constantly looking to innovate and evolve so we’re looking at different approaches to increase the frame and refresh rates and deliver photo realistic environments and image quality.
We’re also working in partnership with simulation and visualization specialists Virtalis, combining their software with our hardware to bring complex data sets to life through active 3D environments. Using head tracking technology, these move and react to each user’s unique perspective.
We’re collaborating with the team to develop a next generation two-person experience, using the 240hz frame rate, to take real-time collaboration environments to the next level.
