Zero Density Launches Open Studio License Program

Zero Density has launched Open Studio License Program, a new initiative that offers the entire software stack of the company’s Unreal-based graphics ecosystem at no cost to independent creators, indie creators and developers, small businesses, and academic users.
“As forward-thinking industry experts, we are always making our platforms and solutions better and benefit everyone. This groundbreaking initiative is no different as it aims to expand the talent pool and enrich the ecosystem with more skilled professionals,” said the company in a statement. “Additionally, this broader user base will contribute to more extensive and timely feedback on new releases and features, accelerating the refinement of our software.”
Following the End User License Agreement (EULA) of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, Zero Density ensures that entities with annual revenues under $1M are eligible for licenses at no cost. For those exceeding this threshold, the paid licensing model will apply.
By offering this program, Zero Density aims to close the talent gap in the industry, ensuring more professionals are trained on its software. Additionally, the expanded user base will provide valuable feedback and user-driven innovations that the company says will help improve its platforms and products more rapidly.
When asked about the community edition of Zero Density, the company stated, “The free Reality Community Edition is dead. Due to changes in the Unreal EULA, we are unable to continue offering it. Instead, we have introduced the Open Studio License Program, which provides access to all Zero Density software at no cost, aimed at growing the user base and developing the talent of the future.”
